Game Boy Advance SP

Whilst having a dig through my storage, I found my original Game boy and thought that it would be a nice exercise to recreate it. A look back at my childhood, this project was inspired by one of my most favourite games, Pokemon, back when it was played with the Gameboy line-up. Created Pokemon Fire red and Leaf green versions to go alongside the original design. I modelled the Gameboy and the cartridges in Maya, using a mixture of bevels and softened edges. The project heavily utilised the boolean workflow for panelling and screw holes. Most of the texture work was done in Substance, with most of the maps being modified in Photoshop. All the texts, shapes, and some of the stickers were made in Photoshop and then assembled in Painter. Keyframe animation was done in Maya and exported to Marmoset Toolbag for editing. The final rendition of the video and startup screen was done using Premiere pro.
